Alaska SeaLife Center

The Alaska SeaLife Center offers an unrivaled, up-close and personal experience with Gulf of Alaska marine wildlife. Witness a 2000+ pound Steller sea lion gliding past underwater viewing windows, puffins diving in a carefully crafted naturalistic habitat, and harbor seals resting on rocky beaches. Alaskan king crab, sea stars, and the Giant Pacific octopus also await you, as well as a whole variety of intertidal creatures and deep sea fishes.

The Alaska SeaLife Center is located at Milepost 0 of the Seward Highway in spectacular Seward, Alaska, just 125 miles south of Anchorage. You can reach Seward by road, on the Alaska Railroad, with the Alaska Marine Highway System, or by air.

Alaska SeaLife Center Exhibits

General Admission (Self-Guided Tour)
Watch puffins fly through underwater skies and meet sea lions and harbor seals eye to eye. Our engaging exhibits will immerse visitors in the marine ecosystem of Alaska and provide opportunities to watch animals in naturalistic habitats and research settings. Guests can explore the Center at a leisurely pace while enjoying daily lectures and activities.
Adults (ages 13+) $15, Youth (ages 7-12) $12, 6 & under FREE.

Welcome to ASLC!
Begin your tour with a friendly greeting from our staff. We will introduce you to the Center in a 6 minute orientation explaining the history and mission of the Alaska SeaLife Center. The presentation is filled with interesting facts and creates a broader perspective of the Center. 
$2 per person, with a $20 minimum.

Behind the Scenes Tour
Go beyond the public exhibit areas of the Center and take advantage of the unique opportunity to investigate the different labs where scientists conduct research. You will get an in-depth perspective on the Center's past and ongoing marine wildlife research and rehabilitation projects.
For ages 13+. $12 per person. Max of 10 people.

Octopus Experience
Learn about the unique anatomy and behavior of the Giant Pacific Octopus as you get an up-close and personal experience with this mysterious animal.
For ages 10+. $49 per person. Max of 4 people.

Puffin Encounter
Help feed our seabirds inside their avian habitat while learning interesting facts about our flock of seabirds, including our favorite diving birds, the Tufted Puffin and Horned Puffin.
For Ages 10+, $49 per person, Max of 4 people.

Marine Mammals Family Program
Immerse your children in our interactive program as they discover how marine mammals are designed to live in Alaska's cold waters. What keeps those Seals warm? How does that Sea Lion stay under water so long?
For ages 3+. $12 per person. $48 minimum.

Cephalopods Family Program
Dissect a squid and learn interesting facts about these slick invertebrates that are valuable research subjects.
For ages 10+ . $12 per person. $48 minimum.

Research and Rehab Program
Our research staff gives you the most up-to-date information about the current research at the Center, followed by our rehabilitation department sharing some of their techniques used to care for injured marine life. Our staff takes the extra time to answer your inquisitive questions.
$12 per person. $120 minimum.

Twilight Tour
Imagine being the only guests in the SeaLife Center! This program takes place after closing so you have your very own private program. After enjoying a picnic style dinner among our marine animals, an interpreter will walk you through our facility. Includes admission to the SeaLife Center the next day.
$100 per person. $400 minimum. Max of 10 people.
